The Environmental Impacts of Globalization on China
China has many problems in the Environment caused by Globalization. This includes air, food, health and forests.
Air - China is a very industrialized country and this has lead to china leading in CO2 emissions worldwide. These high levels of carbon emission are caused as they are able to produce things at a low cost in favorable manufacturers. This then affects the society as in China it is said by the EU that urban dwellers have only access to 1% of safe air due to this issue. On a further scale this is effecting the ozone layer which is not just harming China but the whole world.
Health - China's health is being affected as Globalization has caused many communicable disease from things like pollution made from factories and carbon emissions. These diseases can easily be spread and can even be spread over international borders as Globalization has now made it easy for people to cross over borders. These diseases can effect millions by either killing them or making them very ill.
Food - Globalization has also increased the demand of food not only in China but all over the world. Although undeveloped countries are mainly effected, China still has a strong demand for food and water supply due to Globalization. The UN has stated that more than a billion people don't get the proper nutrition that they need.
Forests - The forests in China itself are not affected as much as other countries due to Globalization. But china has said to get more than 50% of its timber supply from countries where illegal logging is popular. This means that due to Globalization China is causing deforestation in countries which is harmful to the environment and its people.
Therefore China and its environment are strongly effected by Globalization in a negative way.
